Starting to Feel better

Ava went back to daycare today. It wasn't raining outside so she didn't get to wear her rain boots but she decided Daddy should wear them when we got home. The big smiles was good to see after a week of croup!

Croup

So yesterday Earl took Ava to see Dr. Hirsch because we were on day #3 of fever and the cough was not getting better. She has croup although thankfully not as bad as some of the cases he has seen recently. No steroids for right now. Fever was a little better today and Ava was very excited to receive a zuilily package with her rain gear in it. So adorable.

Fever and coughing

The sickness continues. Last night was so bad she got to sleep in bed with Mommy and Daddy. The barking coughing has me worried but she is better during the day. She even put her hair bow in for dinner which was a bowl of rice and ice cream. An ice pop probably would of been a better choice but Ava said "I do not want that, I want ice cream"

Sicky Sicky

Ava came down with something last night. Right before dinner she laid her head down on my shoulder and that was it. About 10 we had a full fledged fever and she was vomited...so now the stomach flu has come full circle. Started with Ava last weekend went through Mommy and Daddy and we thought poor Ava got it back :( Today the fever continued but not too much vomiting. We hope she gets better soon. She is so sad like this.

Big Bows

What's cuter than Ava...Ava with a big bow on her head! We got these headbands when we went to Buy Buy Baby to get real big girl panties. The best part is Ava pooped on the potty when we got home!

Hersheypark Happy!

The weather cleared so we rearranged our plans to head to Hershey for the day. Shannon had saved all of his complimentary employee tickets so we could all go to Hersheypark together. We left the house at 11:30 thinking Ava would nap but she didn't fall asleep until after noon. This had me a little concerned for the rest of the day.

We stopped at Jo Jo' s to get some lunch as we got into town and headed to Grandma's house to pick Grandma and Shannon up. Unfortunately Aunt Alexandra had to work all day so she could go with us.

We headed to the park. We walked past Chocolate World on the way in and I don't think Ava has ever been so excited. She apparently remembers our trip there a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it!

We stopped to see that Ava is a Hershey's miniature.

Our first ride inside the park was the carousel. Ava was definitely nervous and again started the ride by covering her eyes. At the end she had calmed down and was ready to choose her next ride.

Ava chose the dinosaurs. This was a children only ride so she had to go by herself. I explained what that meant and Ava said "ok" so we gave it a try. She was great. She looked relaxed and had a big smile on her face. Next was the bees. The same big smile.

Next Ava rode the ladybug rollercoaster with Grandma and Uncle Shannon.

We rode the monorail around the park right before Kayden, Aunt Danielle, and Uncle Kevin arrived.

We all rode the train. Thankfully none of us got soaked by the snake but guy in the row behind us got hit right in the FACE!

Kayden's favorite ride is the trucks so that was our next stop. Uncle Kevin rode with Kayden and Ava!

On our way out of the park a family was stopped in front of this sign taking a photo. Ava said "me next" and ran up to stand exactly where they had been standing. She struck a pose! The gaggle of teenage girls waiting to take a picture thought this was the cutest thing they had ever seen...as did we!

Pull-ups

Ava has been doing very well potty training. She has moved into pull-ups and knows to tell us she needs to pee pee even when we are out. We are so proud of her!

Potty Training

Ava has started potty training. We are going to the slow and steady route. Ava is the second youngest toddler in her class so many of the other kids are already potty training which has Ava intrigued. She wants to go pee pee on the potty like Molly! She has peed on the potty every night this past week before bed and a few days in the morning. Tomorrow we will start asking them to let her try during the day at school. Progress!

Apple picking

Today we headed to Butler's Orchard to pick apples and raspberries. Ava ate more raspberries off the bush than she put in the basket. I gave up trying to explain to her they needed to be washed after the third try. It was too cute and she was enjoying it too much.

Pink Fingers

Ava sat patiently while I clipped her nails for the first time ever! I told her when I finished I would paint her nails pink. Thank goodness for fast drying nail polish :)

Ducks

Daddy drove to DE today for his fantasy football draft. So Mammy and Ava went to Rio to play at the park and see the ducks. They have these awesome new paddle boats that Ava desperately wants to ride in. Maybe next time when Daddy is with us!

Chocolate World and Birthday Dinner

Mammy and Ava drove to PA today to spend the day with Grandma for her birthday. We got there after Grandma got off work and we hung out at the house until Alexandra had to go to work. Then we headed to chocolate world. This was Ava's first visit! We rode the tram to the building even though we didn't park that far away since the tram was one of Ava's favorite's in Disney. We we got inside we got in line to ride the great American Chocolate ride! The wait was only about 10 minutes. As soon as we got in the car Ava covered her eyes, apparently some of the rides at Disney were too scary for her. But by the end she was bopping to the music. We got some chocolate chip cookies to bring home to Daddy and we headed to the outlets for some shopping. After shopping we went to Red Robin for dinner. Ava ate very well so we got dessert and Ava sang Grandma "Happy Birthday". It was a great day.
